Orange County Solid Waste Convenience Centers

Locations of Solid Waste Convenience Centers are lettered in Blue on MAP:
A. *  Eubanks Road: One mile west of Hwy.86, Chapel Hill
B. * ◊Ferguson Road: At the intersection of Old Greensboro Road, Chapel Hill
C.  ◊ Bradshaw Quarry Road: At the intersection of Oak Grove Church Road, Efland
D.*◊ High Rock Road: ¼ mile west of Mill Creek Road, Efland
E. *  Walnut Grove Church Road: at intersection of Hwy.86 North, Hillsborough

*These centers accept yard waste and have Salvage Sheds. Reusable items in good condition can be taken to the Salvage Sheds. Do NOT bring clothing, carpet, construction material, yard sale remnants, broken furniture or trash items to the Salvage Sheds.

◊These centers can take over-sized rigid plastics such as plastic playground slides, kiddie  pools, or large plastic drums.

Solid Waste Convenience Centers accept household trash and bulky items.
No business waste.
Loads are limited to one pick-up truck per day or weekend period.
Mattresses and box springs wil no longer be accepted as of July 27, 2009.
Landfill permits will no longer be issued as of July 27, 2009.

Recycle same items as 24-hour Drop-Off Sites

Glass Bottles and Jars All Plastic Bottles Metal/Aluminum and Aerosol Spray cans (must be empty) Aluminum Foil Phonebooks and Newspapers Magazines Mixed Paper Corrugated Cardboard and Brown Paper Bags NEW!!! RIGID PLASTICS  available February 1, 2010.

Used Motor Oil & Oil Filters Kerosene, diesel fuel, gear oil, Coleman fuel and transmission fluid can also be recycled with motor oil. Bring in separate containers.	Gasoline, brake fluid, solvents, mixed gas, or paint. Bring these items to the Household Hazardous Waste Collection.

Household Batteries
Electronics Any data carrying electronics such as computers, computer peripherals, televisions, telephones, cd and dvd players, radio and stereo receivers, fax machines and VCR's. We also accept battery operated toys (batteries removed!) and electronic media such as DVD's, CD's and their plastic jewel cases. No shrink wrap or items containing tape such as video or cassette tapes, please.
Large Appliances and Scrap Metal (limit 2 per day)
Tires (limit 4 per month)
Yard Waste and Clean Wood	May be delivered loose or in paper yard waste bags available at most home improvement stores. NO plastic or paper grocery bags.
