Board of Adjustment
Description:
The Orange County Board of Adjustment, hereafter called "The Board", consists of five members, plus two alternates, all of whom are residents of Orange County's Planning Jurisdiction. One of the regular members shall also be a member of the Orange County Planning Board.
The Board shall have the following powers:
- Hear, review, and decide appeals from and review any order requirement, decision, determination made by the Zoning Officer in the performance of official duties;
- Hear and decide applications for the approval of those Special Uses requiring Board of Adjustment approval, in accordance with the rules and conditions laid down in the Zoning Ordinance;
- Hear and decide appeals for variances from the dimensional regulations of the Zoning Ordinance; and
- Pass upon, decide or determine such other matters as may be required by the Zoning Ordinance.
