Unified Development Ordinance

Orange County is in the process of preparing a Unified Development Ordinance (UDO).  A UDO compiles property development regulations into one cross-referenced document.  Examples of existing ordinances to be included in the UDO are: zoning, subdivision, flood damage, and erosion control.

The purpose of these meetings was to inform attendees about the project process, scope and timeline and collect valuable public input.  These meetings were identical in format and content.

  • 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. on Monday, October 19, 2009 at the Southern Human Services Center, 2501 Homestead Rd., Chapel Hill                
  • 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at the Planning and Agricultural Center, 306-F Revere Rd., Hillsborough

Joint Advisory Board Meeting:

  • A joint meeting of key advisory boards and staff was held on Monday, November 2, 2009 from 7:00-8:30pm at the Southern Human Services Center, 2501 Homestead Rd., Chapel Hill.
