Additions or Changes to the Agenda PUBLIC
CHARGE The Board of Commissioners pledges to the
citizens of Orange County its respect. The Board asks its citizens to
conduct themselves in a respectful, courteous manner, both with the Board
and with fellow citizens. At
any time should any member of the Board or any citizen fail to observe
this public charge, the Chair will ask the offending person to leave the
meeting until that individual regains personal control. Should decorum
fail to be restored, the Chair will recess the meeting until such time
that a genuine commitment to this public charge is observed.
All electronic devices such as cell phones, pagers, and computers should
please be turned off or set to silent/vibrate. 2.

Proclamations/ Resolutions/ Special Presentations a.
Turkey Farm Road Bridge Resolution The Board will consider approving a resolution concerning the Turkey Farm Road bridge replacement. b.
Public Safety Telecommunicators' Week The Board will consider approving a proclamation recognizing the week of April 13 - 19, 2008 as Public Safety Telecommunicators' Week in Orange County and authorize the Chair to sign. c.
Orange County Government Week
Proclamation The Board will consider
approving a proclamation in recognition of National County Government Week
in Orange County and authorize the Chair to sign. 4.
Consent Agenda a.
Minutes - None b.
Appointments - None The Board will consider adoption of a refund resolution related to one (1) request for property tax refund in accordance with N.C. General Statute 105-381. The Board will consider adoption of a resolution to release property values related to four (4) requests for property tax release in accordance with N.C. General Statute 105-381. The Board will consider approving value changes made in property values after the 2007 Board of Equalization and Review has adjourned. f.
Applications for Property Tax
Exemption/Exclusion The Board will consider two (2) untimely applications for exemption/exclusion from ad valorem taxation for the 2007 tax year. The Board will consider approving the annual consolidated agreement between the NC Department of Health and Human Services and the Orange County Health Department, which provides State and Federal funds to the Health Department to partially support mandated services and authorize the Chair to sign, pending final review by staff and the County Attorney. h.
Bid Award: Tape Backup System Replacement The Board will consider purchasing a new tape backup system to replace the County's aging tape backup system and authorize the Purchasing Director to execute the necessary paperwork. i.
Valley Forge Road Property Lease Rate for
Builder's First Source The Board will consider approving the lease rate for property owned by the County at 401 Valley Forge Road, Hillsborough and leased to Builders First Source; and to receive information regarding compliance with the original economic development conditions established in the 1997 lease. j.
Dedication of
Electrical Site Lighting Utilities to Duke Energy for Northern Park The Board will consider approving a dedication of electrical site lighting utilities built to service the Orange County Northern Park, and authorize the Chair to sign. k.
Landfill Compactor for Orange County
Landfill The Board will consider
purchasing a Landfill Compactor for the Orange County Landfill in order to
obtain additional compaction and extend the life of the landfill, and
authorize the Purchasing Director to execute the necessary paperwork, and
authorize the Chair to sign, subject to final review by staff and the
County Attorney. 5.
Public Hearings The Board will consider
holding the EPA-required (for State and Tribal Assistance Grant funded
projects) public hearing on the proposed project's preliminary
Engineer's Report. 6.
