ORANGE COUNTY, NC (March 23, 2017) – One major way citizens can have a positive impact on the future of Orange County is to volunteer to serve on the various advisory boards and commissions.  Applicants are needed for the Orange County Parks and Recreation Council.

There are currently openings on the Orange County Parks and Recreation Council.  The council consults with and advises the Department of Environment, Agriculture, Parks and Recreation, and the Board of County Commissioners.  The council provides advisory support on matters affecting recreation policies, programs, personnel, finances, and the acquisition and disposal of lands and properties related to the total community recreation program, and long range planning for recreation.

Orange County is currently seeking representation from Chapel Hill City Limits, Chapel Hill Township, Little River Township, Eno Township and Bingham Township representatives.
