NOMINATIONS BEING ACCEPTED FOR
2016 PAULI MURRAY HUMAN RELATIONS AWARD

The Orange County Human Relations Commission is accepting nominations for the 2016 Pauli Murray Awards, which are presented annually to an Orange County youth, adult, and a business that have served the community with distinction in the pursuit of equality, justice and human rights for all citizens.

Demonstrating this pursuit could have been done by embodying the attributes and spirit of Pauli Murray; encouraging diversity in the workforce; promoting and participating in community activities related to human relation issues and demonstrating positive roles in human relations.

Nomination forms can be picked up at the Town Halls of Hillsborough, Carrboro and Chapel Hill. The forms are also available at the Orange County Public Library Main Branch in Hillsborough and the Carrboro Branch Library at McDougle Middle School and the Chapel Hill Library.

Nominations are due by 5 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 9. Individual (over 18) and Youth (full-time student in grades 6-12 or a college student 18 or younger) nominees must reside in Orange County.
