NaNoWriMo is a creative writing event held worldwide every November. For one month, writers across the globe try to produce 50,000 words in 30 days. The goal of the contest is not to produce perfect work, but rather to spark creativity and jump into a story without worrying about the voice of the inner critic that may keep someone from pursuing their great idea for a short story or novel.
“National Novel Writing Month is a great way for anyone to explore their creativity,” said Amy Kendrick, adult and teen program coordinator. "Whether you’re a published author, or just beginning, NaNoWriMo gives you the freedom to have fun experimenting with writing.”
