ORANGE COUNTY SEEKS VOLUNTEERS TO ASSIST WITH 2017 TAX SEASON
ORANGE COUNTY, NC (August 26, 2016)—The Orange County Volunteer Connect 55+ VITA program is in need of volunteers to assist low to middle-income clients and make a difference in their lives!
VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) is a free IRS service for eligible clients offered at sites in Orange and Chatham Counties. Volunteers are needed in multiple capacities including:
- Tax Preparers
- Intake Receptionists
- Appointment Schedulers
Bilingual volunteer support is welcome at all levels.
VITA is a project of the Orange County Volunteer Connect 55+ program and provides free training for all assignments. Tax preparers require 20-40 hours of training; all other positions require only 2-4 hours.
Orientation and training begins in late October and ends in mid-January in time for tax season. All training sessions are held between late October and mid-January.
