ORANGE COUNTY TO HOST MINDFULNESS PROGRAM
ORANGE COUNTY, NC (June 13, 2016) - TheOrange County Department on Aging invites the public to learn how to draw on your inner resources by attending, “The Mindfulness Program.”
The course will introduce the concepts and benefits of mindfulness including learning to quiet and calm your mind, pay attention to your moment to moment experiences, restore and maintain a sense of personal balance, decrease symptoms associated with stress, and improve your overall physical and emotional wellbeing.
The classes will be taught by Paula Huffman, a registered nurse and experienced yoga teacher. Huffman is certified in Restorative Yoga Instruction and teaches Mindfulness at the University of North Carolina Integrative Medicine program.
Each week participants will receive a manual and handouts, but are encouraged to purchase “Full Catastrophe Living,” by Jon Kabat-Zinn, creator of the Mindfulness Program.
Presentation Dates and Location
Wednesdays, June 22 – July 20
9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
The series costs $100. Participants must register by Monday, June 20.
