APPLICANTS NEEDED FOR CHAPEL HILL PLANNING COMMISSION JOINT PLANNING AREA (JPA) OR EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION (ETJ)

ORANGE COUNTY, NC (June 1, 2016) – One major way citizens can have a positive impact on the future of Orange County is to volunteer to serve on the various advisory boards and commissions.

The Board of County Commissioners appoints representatives to fill two positions on the CHAPEL HILL PLANNING COMMISSION.  These individuals represent and must reside in the Joint Planning Area (JPA) or the Extraterritorial Jurisdiction (ETJ) of Chapel Hill.

The Chapel Hill Planning Commission develops a comprehensive plan for the orderly growth and development of Chapel Hill.  It reviews all plans for buildings, projects and facilities to be located within the Town’s jurisdiction.  It also formulates and recommends the adoption and amendment of ordinances.

If interested, you may apply online at www.orangecountync.gov/boards.

Orange County strives for diversity on volunteer advisory boards.  Minorities are encouraged to apply.  Applicants must reside in Orange County.  Volunteers appointed by the Board of County Commissioners have an opportunity to influence the way of life in Orange County.
