ORANGE COUNTY TO CLOSE OFFICES IN OBSERVANCE OF MEMORIAL DAY
ORANGE COUNTY, NC (May 19, 2016) - Orange County will close its administrative and departmental offices on Monday, May 30, 2016 in observance of the Memorial Day holiday. This includes senior centers, convenience centers, libraries, Health Department, visitors center and other County Government functions. County offices will re-open on Tuesday, May 31 and resume regular business hours.
Please be advised of the following closure exceptions for Orange County departments or services.
The Animal Services facility will be closed on Memorial Day, but any 9-1-1 calls for emergency animal control services will be answered on a 24-hour schedule. The after-hours animal drop will be open and checked throughout the day.
The Little River Regional Park will operate during regular hours of 8:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Blackwood Farm Park is closed Monday, May 30.
Orange Public Transportation (OPT) administrative and dispatch offices will be closed on Memorial Day. OPT will operate limited service serving the in-county dialysis route only (Carolina Dialysis). Full service on all routes will resume Tuesday, May 31.
In order to provide two working day notice for scheduling trips, requests for Tuesday, May 31 must be received by 3:00 p.m. Thursday, May 26. Trip requests for Wednesday, June 1, must be received by 3:00 p.m. Friday, May 27.
Curbside recycling will be collected on Monday, May 30, as regularly scheduled. If this is your normal recycling day, have your bins at the curb by 7:00 a.m. or put them out the night before.
As always, emergency services are available 7-days a week, 24-hours a day.
