ORANGE COUNTY TO CELEBRATE NATIONAL
COUNTY GOVERNMENT MONTH
ORANGE COUNTY, NC (March 18, 2016)—Orange County invites the public to participate in the celebration of National County Government Month, during the month of April.
This is an opportunity for the County to demonstrate this year’s theme of “Safe and Secure Counties” through services, such as emergency management, criminal justice, economic development, environmental protection, and much more.
Residents are invited to attend the 3rd annual “Orange County Expo” at University Place on Friday, April 8, from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. More than 25 departments will be on display to greet the public and showcase the vast offerings of County programs and services.
“Orange County is proud to provide quality customer service to our residents,” said Earl McKee, chair of the Board of County Commissioners. “Our efforts combined with efforts of counties across the country do help keep American communities safe and secure.”
University Place is located at 201 S. Estes Drive in Chapel Hill.
County departments and partnering agencies will set up display booths inside the mall. There will be a compliment of emergency service vehicles on display outside in the parking lot. The public can tour the vehicles and meet the employees who operate them.
Once again, Ron Stutts and the WCHL crew will broadcast live from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. interviewing Orange County employees about how their respective departments play a role in making this a safe and secure community.
