ORANGE COUNTY TO CLOSE OFFICES IN OBSERVANCE OF GOOD FRIDAY

ORANGE COUNTY, NC (March 10, 2015)—Orange County will close its administrative offices on Friday, March 25, in observance of Good Friday and the Easter holiday. 

The County offices will re-open and all employees will return on Monday, March 28, and resume regular business hours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. However, exceptions apply to the following County departments or services.

Animal Services
The Animal Services facility will be open on Saturday, March 26, from 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. and closed on Sunday, March 27. All 9-1-1 calls for emergency animal control services will be answered on a 24-hour schedule from Friday - Sunday.

Chapel Hill/Orange County Visitors Center will be closed on Friday, March 25, but will be open on Saturday, March 26, from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Health Department
The Orange County Health Department clinics and administrative offices will be closed on Friday, March 25, and will reopen and resume regular hours on Monday, March 28.

Library
The Orange County Main Library, Carrboro Branch Library and Cybrary will be open during regular hours on Saturday, March 26. However, all three locations will be closed on Friday, March 25, and Sunday, March 27.

Orange Public Transportation (OPT)
Administrative and dispatch offices will be closed on Friday, March 25.  OPT will operate on a limited basis, serving the in-county dialysis route only (Carolina Dialysis) on Friday, March 25, and Saturday March 26.

Full service will resume Monday, March 28. In order to provide two business day’s notice for scheduling, trip requests for Monday, March 28, must be received by 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 23. Trip requests for Tuesday, March 29, must be received by 3:00 p.m. Thursday, March 24.

Parks
The Administrative offices will be closed Friday, March 25. Blackwood Farm Park and Little River Regional Park will be open on Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.  The Central Recreation Center Gym will be closed and will re-open on Monday, April 4.

Senior Centers
The Seymour Center and the Passmore Center will be closed on Friday, March 25, and the Seymour Center will be open during regular hours on Saturday, March 26.

Recycling, Landfill, and Solid Waste Convenience Centers
The Orange County Solid Waste Administrative Office, located at 1207 Eubanks Road in Chapel Hill, will be closed on Friday, March 25.

Curbside recycling will be collected as regularly scheduled on Friday, March 25.  If your regular recycling day is on Friday, please be sure to have your bins to the curb by 7:00 a.m. or put them out the night before. 

The Orange County Construction & Demolition Landfill and its regular operations, such as Mulch Sales and the Household Hazardous Waste Collection will be CLOSED onFriday, March 25.

Orange County Solid Waste Convenience Centers will be OPEN on Friday, March 25.  They will be CLOSED on Sunday, March 27.
