ORANGE COUNTY, NC (March 2, 2016)—The Department on Aging will host a seminar entitled, “Let’s Talk: The Basics of Hospice” to discuss the care and support available for individuals with terminal or serious illness.

The FREE seminar will be offered in English and in Mandarin. The event will take place on Wednesday, March 9, at the Seymour Center in Chapel Hill.

Participants will receive an overview of the Philosophy of Hospice and how hospice staff works together with the patient, family, and care providers to help them live as fully and as comfortable as possible.

Learn more about the basics of hospice care, including what hospice is and is not; what types of services are covered; what type of care is provided – and where; who is eligible for hospice services - and much more.

The program will also include a discussion about the differences between hospice and palliative care.
