ORANGE COUNTY TO HOST LUNAR NEW YEAR CELEBRATION
ORANGE COUNTY, NC (January 20, 2016)—The Orange County Department on Aging invites the public to celebrate the Lunar New Year.
The festivities are free and will take place at the Robert and Pearl Seymour Center on Thursday, February 4, from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
The most important Chinese holiday is the Lunar New Year, also known in China as Spring Festival. The festival ushers in the Lunar New Year and is equivalent to the West’s Christmas and New Year’s Eve rolled into one. From sun up to sun down, all of China celebrates.
A variety entertainment will be offered throughout the afternoon followed by a reception of traditional Chinese snacks. Come celebrate the Lunar New Year and the Year of the Monkey!
The Robert and Pearl Seymour Center is located at 2551 Homestead Road in Chapel Hill.
