Orange County continues the Aging in Community Speaker Series

ORANGE COUNTY, NC (June 5, 2018)—The Orange County Department on Aging invites the public to the next Aging in Community: Planning for Our Future speaker series, “Budgeting can be Beautiful – Rethinking Money in Later Life.”

In our next event, we’ll challenge common ideas about why and how to create a personal budget. We’ll explore how budgeting can be used to fuel your passions and your projects, when debt can be turned into an asset, and what “resources” a satisfied mind might require.

The event will take place on Thursday, June 21, from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at the Seymour Center located at 2551 Homestead Road in Chapel Hill.

Our speaker, John Eckblad, PhD., is a social psychologist who has worked most of his career advising corporate leaders. In his later life, and after a new diagnosis or two, John and his wife Susie have committed themselves to an annual budget-building process that can appear to be both prudent and daring depending on the line item.

Please join us for a fresh look at budgeting as a process that can enable you to achieve the projects that matter most to you.

The event is FREE. Registration suggested but not required. Please bring your clipboard and a pencil!

For more information or to register, please call the Seymour Center at 919-968-2070.

We hope you will join us as we continue to plan our futures, together.
