ORANGE COUNTY, NC – (May 23, 2018) – The Orange County Public Library invites the public to its free Summer Learning Kickoff celebration, Saturday, June 2, from 9 a.m.-Noon at the Main Library in downtown Hillsborough. The event is free, open to the public and includes an opportunity to register for Summer Learning. Activities include: live music, popcorn, sno-cones, games and raffle prizes.

Each year, the Collaborative Summer Library Program sets a nationwide theme for summertime learning. Libraries across the country gear up to ensure children and teens have opportunities to have fun while learning during summer break. This year’s theme is Libraries Rock.

The Orange County Public Library has four locations to serve residents. The Main Library is located at 137 W. Margaret Lane in downtown Hillsborough. The Library Station Kiosk is located at 5600 N. Highway 86 in Cedar Grove, just north of Hillsborough. The Carrboro Branch is located inside McDougle Middle School, 900 Old Fayetteville Road in Chapel Hill. The Cybrary is located at The Century Center, 100 N. Greensboro Street, Carrboro. Free parking is available at all library locations.
