Families in Focus
Intensive Home Visiting Program:
Families in Focus is an enhancement of the Child Service Coordination program that allows the highest risk families of Orange County to receive more intensive home visiting services. The program targets pregnant women and families with infants less than three months who are overburdened due to health, social, and/or economic conditions.
Family Home Visitors (Public Health Nurses or Social Workers) provide weekly home visits, using a structured curriculum to provide parent education and information on child health, safety, and growth and development. Home visitors also provide supportive counseling to families and referrals for needed services.
A family can be served until the child is three years old but a family can discontinue services at any time. There is no income eligibility requirement or cost involved to the family.
To get services, talk to your doctor, nurse, or Maternity Care Coordinator about your interest in the Family Home Visiting Program, or call the Orange County Health Department at (919) 245-2407 for more information.
The Family Home Visiting Program is partially funded through the Orange County Partnership for Young Children.
