Adult Healthcare

Immunizations required by North Carolina Immunization Law are offered free of charge. Other vaccines, not required by law are also available.  Clients with specific risk factors may qualify for these vaccines at no charge.  For others there is a flat fee.  Vaccines include:

  • Hepatitis A
  • Hepatitis B
  • Hepatitis A/B
  • Meningococcal
  • Influenza
  • Pneumococcal
  • Varicella (Chicken Pox)
  • Shingles
  • HPV (Human Papilloma Virus)

Primary Care Services are available to adults enrolled in one of our prevention services (Family Planning, Maternal Health).

Other adult health clinical services are limited to screening, monitoring, and referral. Two free blood pressure checks are offered yearly. A fee is charged after two visits.  Physician orders are needed to monitor individuals in the clinic with chronic diseases who are not enrolled in Primary Care.  Fees are based on income and services are by appointment only.

Orange County Diabetes Self Management Education Program

The Health Department's Nutrition Services Program offers Diabetes Self Management Education (DSME) to help residents with type 2 diabetes better manage their disease an prevent future complications.  Visit the DSME page to learn more about the program, its benefits, and how to join.
