Rural Routes (every other week collection)
Portions of last weeks Wednesday, Thursday and Friday Routes remained impassable this weekend while our recycklign colleciton crews were out.  Those uncollected areas will get picked up today or tomorrow, as our drivers will go back to those areas when Monday and Tuesday regularly scheduled routes are completed. Please leave your recycling out not blocked by cars or any other obstruction, so that they can get to it.

Also, please be advised that for this collection cycle only, any overflow recycling can be placed alongside your cart in a rigid plastic container such as a laundry basket or a milk crate, with empty and flattened boxes stacked neatly.  Do not use plastic bags to contain material. Please do not overstuff your carts. Material caught inside will prevent the cart from being fully emptied.

Thank you for your patience and co-operation.

Urban Routes (every week collection)
Please bring your material back in until your next regularly scheduled collection day.

January 18, 2018

Orange County Government Offices are operating on a three-hour delay for Friday, January 19.  The Waste and Recycling Centers and the Construction and Demolition Landfill will open at 10:00 a.m. and the Solid Waste Administrative office will open at 11:00 a.m.

Curbside recycling collections will be running Friday and Saturday to make up Wednesday, Thursday and Friday routes, as conditions allow.  Some side roads may continue to be inaccessible through the thawing and freezing period. If you are on these routes and your recycling remains uncollected, please leave your recycling out at the curb (but not in the street) so that our drivers can continue to make up in the early part of next week.

For this collection cycle, curbside recycling collection staff will pick up excess material left outside the carts in rigid containers such as plastic crates, or a laundry basket.  Do not use plastic bags. Please make sure that your recycling is not blocked by cars or other obstruction. Residents can also manage overflow, especially corrugated cardboard, by bringing it to one of the four 24-hour drop-off locations as conditions allow.

January 17, 2018

Orange County offices are now closed. The Solid Waste Administration office is closed and the Construction and Demolition Landfill is closed.  Waste and Recycling Centers are always closed on Wednesdays.

Curbside recycling will be collected on a one-day delay.   If Wednesday is your normally scheduled collection day, please leave your recycling out to be collected on Thursday, as road conditions allow.  Thursday routes will be collected on Friday, and Friday routes will be collected on Saturday. Please make sure your cart is not blocked by any cars, mailboxes or other obstruction.  Safety of individuals and property is our priority.

Check this page in the case of delayed or cancelled curbside recycling collections, or unanticipated landfill and Solid Waste Convenience Center schedule changes due to weather events or other occurrence that might impact the schedules of Solid Waste Management Department services.

If partial routes of curbside recycling collection are delayed due to operational difficulties on the part of the collector we will list the effected streets here.  If your bin was missed and was out by 7AM on your collection day, but you do not see your street listed here, give us a call, (919) 968-2788.
