About National Nutrition Month®
National Nutrition Month® is a nutrition education and information campaign sponsored annually in March by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Day, celebrated March 9th, increases awareness of registered dietitians (RDs) as the indispensable providers of food and nutrition services and recognizes RDs for their commitment to helping people enjoy healthy lives.

This year’s theme, “Savor the Flavor of Eating Right”, encourages everyone to take time to enjoy food traditions and appreciate the pleasures, great flavors and social experiences food can add to our lives. How, when, why and where we eat are just as important as what we eat. Developing a mindful eating pattern that includes nutritious and flavorful foods is the best way to Savor the Flavor of Eating Right.”

“Savor the Flavor of Eating Right supports the 2015 Dietary Guidelines for Americans and the USDA’s food icon, MyPlate, and can accommodate the food preferences, traditions and cultures of many diverse groups. For more information about MyPlate, go to

Join the Orange County Health Department as we encourage everyone to “Savor the Flavor of Eating Right.”
