What is HBI?
HBI is confidential, specialized counseling for Medicaid eligible pregnant women to help you better cope with life's difficult problems. HBI is a service of the North Carolina Baby Love Program.

Who provides the counseling?
A Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who specializes in women's issues.

Where is the service provided?
The service is provided either in your home, the Orange County Health Department (OCHD) Clinics or other locations as appropriate.

What does this cost?
HBI is a FREE service to Medicaid eligible pregnant women. Your Medicaid will be billed.

How often would we meet?
How often you meet will be determined by you and the counselor based on your needs.

How can I receive this service?
To receive the HBI service talk with your OCHD clinic nurse or social worker about making a referral for you.
