Donations always make a difference and especially now!!  We depend upon your monetary and material donations to help us continue to care for the many animals that come to us each year. 

All donations are tax deductable and may be made in several ways:

Animal Care Supplies

We use a variety of animal supplies daily and are always in need of these.  Click here to see a list of our most commonly used and needed supplies.

Monetary Donations

We accept and appreciate monetary donations of any value. Donations for specific projects may be made through the Orange County Giving Fund.  These projects presently include:

  • Animal Services Public Art Project (click for more information about this project)

  • Pat Sanford Animal Welfare Award (click for more information about this grant)

  • Community Spay/Neuter Fund

  • Advertising Campaigns for Adoptable Pets

  • Cat Sheltering Enhancement

  • Dog Exercise Area Fund

  • Medical Care for Adoptable Pets

  • Sculptures, Benches and Lancscape Amenities

  • Free-roaming Cat Initiative

Upcoming Events

Low-cost rabies vaccination and microchip clinic
Saturday, March 4
1 pm - 3 pm
Our next clinic will be held at Phydeaux, 400 S. Elliott Rd in Chapel Hill. Only one-year vaccinations offered for $10, and cash only for this clinic.  Microchips offered for $25.  Please bring animals on leashes and in carriers.  See details and other clinic dates this year on our rabies page.

Spay/Neuter Day!
Tuesday, February 28
Animal Services will hold its next Spay/Neuter Day Tuesday, February 28th.  They will partner with SNAP-NC to spay and neuter the pets of qualifying Orange County residents for free!  Residents can qualify if they receive public assistance or by income and should contact Sarah Fallin, Program Coordinator at or at 919-94207387 ext 224 to sign up or learn more about qualifying.  Participants must sign up by February 14.

Margaret's Cantina Dinner Proceeds
Every 2nd Monday of the month
Eat dinner at Margaret's Cantina on the 2nd Monday of every month and 10% of proceeds will go to the Spay/Neuter Program at Animal Services.
