Public Participation

Meetings of the Advisory Board and its committees are a public function and members of the public are invited to attend and permitted to speak within certain guidelines. See the County’s monthly Meeting Calendar here for times and dates of upcoming meetings.

Animal Services Hearing Panel Pool

There is a pool from which people are drawn to serve on hearing panels for dangerous dog declarations and other actions taken by Animal Services staff.  This pool is entirely independent of Animal Services staff and its members are appointed by the Board of County Commissioners. For additional information about dangerous dog appeals, go to the "Dangerous Dogs: Declarations and Appeal Process" section on the Animal Control web page.
