What: Telephone Reassurance is a free service that provides morning safety-check phone calls to seniors Monday through Friday. All interested seniors qualify.
Trained volunteers call each participant between 8:00am-9:30am. If calls remain unanswered after three attempts, volunteers will inform Aging Transitions staff members who will take further action.
Program Capabilities: The telephone reassurance program attracts a number of volunteers. Therefore, this program has the capacity to accommodate more seniors than it currently serves.

The telephone reassurance program is a great fit for homebound seniors and seniors who live by themselves, but it is also open to anyone who would like to have regular checkups or even a friendly conversation.
Benefits to Volunteers: This program provides accountability and reassurance to participants and volunteers alike. Participants also call staff to report when they have not received their phone call from the volunteer, thus helping both groups of seniors feel more secure in their homes.
