Katie Corey is our new CARES ACT-funded Court Navigator. She will work in the CJRD for the next 6 months through the end of December. As a Navigator, she will assist individuals attending court during the pandemic. Her role is to help people meet their needs in the Courthouse, connect them with their attorneys, help them access remote hearings, ensure appropriate social distancing and COVID-19 measures are in place and assist justice-involved individuals with needed community resources. She will have work space, information and resources near the front of the Courthouse in the vault waiting area. Katie received her MSW from Boston College's School of Social Work, her undergraduate degree from Duke and served as an AmeriCorps teacher in Boston and also taught in Thailand. She speaks conversational Spanish and has prior experience as a social work case manager intern for a Legal Services Clinic. We are excited to have her here assisting court-involved individuals during these COVID-19 times.
