Baby Lapsit Storytime for Babies

Baby Lapsit Storytime is at the Main Library on Mondays at 11 a.m. Babies and their caregivers are invited to participate in a 20-minute lapsit program that incorporates age-appropriate books, rhymes, music, and movement. A 30-minute Stay and Play follows storytime.

Toddler Storytime for Walkers to Age 3

Toddler Storytime is at the Main Library on Tuesdays at 10 a.m.
Children from walkers to age 3 and their caregivers are invited to participate in a 25-minute interactive program that incorporates age-appropriate books, rhymes, music, and movement. A 30-minute Stay and Play follows storytime.

Preschool Storytime for Ages 3 to 5

Preschool Storytime is at the Main Library on Wednesdays at 10 a.m.
Children ages 3 to 5 and their caregivers are invited to participate in a 30-minute interactive program that incorporates age appropriate books, songs, and movement to nurture pre-reading skills. A 30-minute Stay and Play follows storytime.

Saturday Storytime is at the Main Library on Saturdays at 10:30 a.m.
Children from walkers to age 5, their caregivers, and their siblings are invited to participate in a 30-minute interactive program with books, songs, and movement to nurture pre-reading skills. A 30-minute Stay and Play follows storytime.

Pick up Some STEAM with Kids Explore for Grades K to 2

Kids Explore is at the Main Library on Tuesday afternoons at 4 p.m.
Join us for a variety of 45-minute programs for kids in grades K to 2 in which we combine books to spark imaginations with a variety of science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM)-based activities to foster creativity, critical thinking, and problem solving skills. What Are You Reading? for Grades 3 to 5

What Are You Reading? is at the Main Library on the 1st Thursday of the month at 6 p.m.
A book club for kids in grades 3 to 5. Come and talk about books and eat pizza. No assigned reading prior to meeting. Registration required; call 919-245-2532.

Information About Age Ranges

While the library's family programs are open to all ages, other programs in youth services are designed for a specific age or grade range. Establishing age and grade ranges allows us to plan programs that are appropriate for each range of child development, maintain quality in our programming, and promote fairness to all.
